      Health Benefits

      • Improve Heart Health: Sauna bathers cite “stress reduction” as their number one benefit. A 25-year study conducted with more than 2,300 participants improved cardiovascular health among many other health benefits. Saunas cause blood vessels near the skin to dilate and increase cardiac output/circulation. This greatly reduces the risk of all-cause mortality and fatal cardiac incidents along with reduced risk of stroke and hypertension.

      • Soothe Aches & Pains: Body temperature increases dilate blood vessels allowing for increased blood circulation, which in turn speeds the body’s natural healing process. High-heat provided by a sauna releases endorphins which can minimize pain and often associated with a “runner’s high.”

        Relieve Back Pain
      • Reduce Fatigue: Feel your daily best! Saunas have been shown to reduce the most chronic fatigue symptoms. It will help treat your anxiety and depression improving your overall mood.
        Study Here
      • Refresh Skin: Heat bathing is one of the oldest beauty/health strategies. Collagen — the protein in our skin responsible for elasticity — gets increased during prolonged heat exposure in a sauna that will directly rejuvenate your complexion. The heat also sheds dead skin cells to way for new, healthier ones.
        Study Here
      • Flush Toxins: Deep sweating in a sauna can help reduce levels of lead, copper, zinc, nickel, mercury and chemicals - which are all toxins commonly absorbed just from interacting with our daily environments.
      • Brain Health: Saunas have proven to reduce dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
        Study Here
      • Induces Deeper Sleep: Post sauna, our body temperature cools, which then signals production of the sleep inducing hormone melatonin. Your body will be loose, relaxed and ready for quality sleep.

      Frequently Asked Questions

Is my sauna delivered pre-assembled? If not, can I assemble it myself?

Our saunas are pre-fabricated and arrive unassembled on pallets. Assembly instructions are included with each sauna, and most require only a Philips head screwdriver for assembly. Generally, it takes two individuals about 2-3 hours to complete the assembly, but this time frame may vary based on the size of the sauna and your assembly experience.

We currently do not provide assembly services; however, the process is quite straightforward. We can also help you find a local expert who can assemble the sauna for you, typically at a cost between $300 and $400.

What distinguishes an infrared sauna from a conventional sauna?

In this blog post, we discuss the key differences between the two types. In brief, infrared saunas are equipped with several infrared heaters that emit infrared rays, directly warming your body. They do not heat the air inside the sauna, reaching only about 145° F.

On the other hand, traditional saunas utilize an electric heater or wood-burning stove to heat the air within the sauna enclosure. Sauna stones are placed atop the heater or stove, and pouring water over these stones generates steam that increases humidity and heats the sauna further. Traditional saunas generally reach around 190° F, although some users may heat theirs above 200° F.

Can I connect my sauna to a regular outlet?

The requirements for powering your sauna depend on the specific model. Some saunas can be connected to a standard outlet, while others necessitate a dedicated circuit. If you're uncertain about the necessary steps to power your sauna, don't hesitate to contact us.

What temperatures do your saunas reach?

Traditional saunas usually achieve temperatures up to 190° F, whereas infrared saunas reach up to 145° F.

      What is EMF?

EMF stands for electromagnetic field, the physical field produced by the movement of electrically charged particles. Both "Low EMF" and "Near-Zero EMF" are terms used to describe environments with reduced exposure to electromagnetic radiation, but they have slightly different meanings.

Low EMF typically refers to environments where the levels of electromagnetic radiation are reduced compared to typical levels in our daily lives, such as in homes or workplaces. This can be achieved by reducing the use of electronic devices, using shielding materials to block EMF, or designing buildings with EMF-reducing features.

Near-zero EMF, on the other hand, typically refers to environments where the levels of electromagnetic radiation are extremely low, approaching or reaching zero. This is often achieved by using specialized equipment, such as Faraday cages or shielded rooms, to completely block or neutralize EMF.

What are the estimated monthly electrical costs for operating a sauna?

The cost depends on your usage frequency; however, given that sauna sessions typically last no more than 30-40 minutes, the monthly cost of operating a sauna is comparable to that of a washing machine and dryer.

Where do you ship your saunas from?

Our suppliers have facilities in various regions across the United States and Canada. Your sauna will be shipped from one of these locations.

When will my sauna be delivered?

For the most up-to-date lead times, please contact us.

What types of flooring are suitable for indoor saunas?

Almost any surface works well, with the exception of carpet.

Can I place my indoor sauna outdoors?

We recommend non-outdoor specific models to be enclosed and sheltered from the elements.

Golden Designs Reserve 3 Person Near Zero EMF Full Spectrum Corner Infrared Sauna Frequently Asked Questions

      Assembly Questions

How do I assemble my Sauna?

The assembly of the Golden Designs Reserve is designed to be as intuitive as possible. You'll receive comprehensive step-by-step instructions with your sauna, ensuring a smooth setup process.

The large wall pieces are designed for easy snap-together assembly and secured with pre-fabricated screws. The smaller pieces are also secured with pre-fabricated screws. The sauna is designed to be assembled by two people, and the process should take about 2-3 hours. If you have any questions or concerns, our customer service team is always happy to help.

Can I place my indoor sauna outdoors?

We recommend non-outdoor specific models to be enclosed and sheltered from the elements.

What types of flooring are suitable for indoor saunas?

The base should be strong enough to support the weight of the sauna, resistant to heat and moisture.

Here are a few options for what you can place an indoor sauna on:

      • Tile: Ceramic or porcelain tiles are a popular choice for sauna bases due to their durability, water resistance, and easy maintenance. Tiles are also available in a variety of designs to match your home's aesthetic.
      • Concrete: Similar to outdoor use, concrete can be used as a base for indoor saunas. It's strong, durable, and resistant to water and heat. You can also finish it with sealant or paint for a more polished look.
      • Vinyl: Vinyl flooring is another option for sauna bases. It's water-resistant and fairly easy to clean. However, be sure to choose a vinyl that can withstand the high temperatures generated by the sauna.
      • Wood: Certain types of wood, like cedar, can be used as a base for indoor saunas. Cedar is resistant to decay and can withstand high temperatures and moisture, making it ideal for sauna use. However, it needs to be correctly treated and maintained to ensure longevity.

The flooring should not only be strong and heat-resistant. Please also consider the slipping conditions to ensure safety when the floor gets wet.

What are the electrical requirements for a Golden Designs Sauna?

Golden Designs Saunas are designed for easy assembly and integration into your home. Golden Designs Reserve uses a 120V/20amp outlet.

Preparing your home for a sauna is a standard task that a certified electrician can easily manage. Similar to setting up a dishwasher or an air conditioner, they'll establish a dedicated circuit. The associated cost usually aligns with other routine household electrical installations. For an accurate quote tailored to your specific circumstances, call/email a few local electrician and ask 'how much does it cost to setup a dedicated 20-amp, 120-volt outlet'.

      Technical Questions

What temperatures do Golden Designs Saunas reach?

Golden Designs Reserve infrared saunas has a maximum temperature range of 140 degrees Fahrenheit. This is lower than traditional saunas, which often heat up to 150-180 degrees Fahrenheit.

Infrared saunas heat the body directly rather than the air around you, leading to a more efficient sweat at a lower temperature.

What is the difference between an infrared sauna and a steam sauna?

Both infrared and steam saunas aim to improve overall wellness through the application of heat, their differences in the type of heat they generate lead to distinct experiences and benefits

      • Infrared Saunas: Emit infrared light absorbed as radiant heat directly by your skin. This direct warmth provides deep, soothing effects on muscles and joints, promoting relaxation and recovery. Although their temperature peaks at about 145°F, it's the direct, penetrating heat that creates an effective and comfortable sauna experience.
      • Steam Saunas: Heat the air to around 190°F, stimulating deep sweating and detoxification. Pouring water on sauna stones generates steam, adding humidity for an invigorating sauna experience.

In essence, the lower temperature of infrared saunas can still deliver a potent sauna experience due to direct heat absorption. Whether you prefer the deep, direct warmth of an infrared sauna or the intense, humid heat of a traditional sauna, both can enrich your wellness routine in different ways. To explore these unique benefits further, our detailed blog post provides an in-depth comparison.

What is the cost to run a Golden Designs Sauna?

To estimate the cost of running a Golden Designs Sauna, you need to know its power rating in kilowatts (kW) and the cost of electricity in your area. Golden Designs Saunas typically range from 1.5 to 2.5 kW for their smaller saunas (1-3 persons), and up to 3.0 kW for larger ones (4+ persons). Let's consider an example with a sauna using 2.0 kW. Assuming the average cost of electricity is $0.13 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) and you use your sauna for one hour each day, the cost of running your sauna would be: 2.0 kW * 1 hour * $0.13 per kWh = $0.26 So, it would cost roughly 26 cents for each hour of use. Over a month (30 days), this adds up to $7.80. Remember, this is a rough estimate. The actual cost can vary based on the specific model of your sauna, your local electricity rates, and how frequently and how long you use the sauna.

      What is EMF?

EMF stands for electromagnetic field, the physical field produced by the movement of electrically charged particles. All of "Low EMF", "Ultra Low EMF", and "Near Zero EMF" are terms used to describe environments with reduced exposure to electromagnetic radiation, but they have slightly different meanings.

      • Low EMF: typically refers to environments where the levels of electromagnetic radiation are reduced compared to typical levels in our daily lives, such as in homes or workplaces. This can be achieved by reducing the use of electronic devices, using shielding materials to block EMF, or designing buildings with EMF-reducing features.
      • Ultra Low EMF: refers to environments where the levels of electromagnetic radiation are minimized even further than those characterized as "Low EMF". While not entirely eliminating EMFs, "Ultra Low EMF" strategies employ more advanced techniques, materials, and designs to reduce exposure to the bare minimum, making it an intermediate level between "Low EMF" and "Near Zero EMF".
      • Near-zero EMF: typically refers to environments where the levels of electromagnetic radiation are extremely low, approaching or reaching zero. This is often achieved by using specialized equipment, such as Faraday cages or shielded rooms, to completely block or neutralize EMF.

Each of these levels targets a specific reduction in EMF exposure, providing options to suit various needs, applications, and sensitivities. The approach taken can vary widely depending on the intended use, local regulations, and other factors, requiring careful consideration and professional guidance.

What is the difference between FAR and Full Spectrum?

In the world of infrared saunas, "near", "far", and "full spectrum" refer to different wavelengths of infrared light:

      • Near-Infrared: Use the shortest infrared wavelengths, which are absorbed just below the skin's surface, promoting healing and rejuvenation. Near-infrared is often associated with benefits such as skin renewal, wound healing, and enhanced cell health.
      • Far-Infrared: Use the longest infrared wavelengths, penetrating deep into the body to promote a detoxifying sweat. These types of saunas are renowned for supporting detoxification, weight loss, and cardiovascular health.
      • Full Spectrum: These saunas utilize the entire infrared spectrum — near, mid, and far-infrared wavelengths. As a result, they offer a comprehensive range of benefits from all infrared types, deeply penetrating tissues to aid in detoxification, pain relief, circulation improvement, and potentially weight loss.

When choosing a sauna, consider your personal health goals and consult with a healthcare provider to determine the type of infrared sauna that would be most beneficial for you.

Benefits of the Golden Designs Reserve

Can heat therapy reduce my stress levels?

Regular sauna use can help to elevate mood, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being. The heat helps to release endorphins, the body's natural 'feel good' chemicals, promoting a sense of relaxation and contentment.

Will using a sauna help improve my sleep?

Using a sauna, especially in the afternoon or evening, can help to promote better sleep. The post-cooling effect after a sauna session can help to align with your body’s natural cooling down period before sleep, aiding in falling asleep faster and promoting deeper, more restful sleep.

Can a sauna assist in weight management?

The heat generated by the sauna increases your heart rate, similar to the effect of a cardiovascular workout, helping to burn calories. However, it's important to note that while saunas can support weight loss as part of a balanced lifestyle, they are not a substitute for regular exercise and a healthy diet.

Will regular sauna use improve my skin health?

The heat from the sauna helps to open up the pores and promote sweating, which assists in the removal of toxins and impurities from the skin. Regular sauna use can lead to improvements in the appearance of your skin, including a decrease in signs of aging, and can promote a healthy, radiant complexion.

      Do saunas improve cardiovascular health?

Regular use of sauna can improve cardiovascular health by reducing risk of cardiovascular events and stroke. The heat from the sauna increases your heart rate, similar to light exercise, and can help improve blood circulation. It's important to note, however, that individuals with existing heart conditions should consult with a healthcare provider before using a sauna.
